Hmmm…this is a very interesting rumor. Apparently Nintendo has been tying up about 25% more power for “front end use.” It is said that Nintendo has plans to release that 25% more power for developers to use. I would be very interested to see how developers use this extra 25%.

Here is some more rumored details about the power boast.

– firmware update with Super Mario 3D Land unlocks this extra power for devs
– devs won’t get access to the RAM reserved for the OS
– only allowed to use the other core in a partial fashion
– The use of the 25% will be detrimental to wireless functions.
