Cursed Mountain Climbs Into Retail
Hermosa Beach, Calif. – August 25, 2009 – Deep Silver Inc., a publisher of interactive entertainment software and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Koch Media, today announced that the highly anticipated Wii™ exclusive survival horror game Cursed Mountain has shipped out to retail stores.
“Deep Silver has taken great care to craft this unique, atmospheric experience exclusively for Wii owners,” IGN said of the game. “And after having some hands-on time with the game ourselves…we’re believers.” Destructoid commented, “The game has all the makings for one of the best horror titles on the Wii.” Kotaku added, “By the third level, Cursed Mountain was making me downright anxious both with its setting… and with its plot.”
Set in the late 1980s, gamers take on the role of the fearless mountaineer Eric Simmons as he climbs into the Himalayan mountains on a quest to find his brother, Frank, who went missing while in pursuit of an ancient artefact, known as the Terma, a key piece of wisdom that was written down in ancient times and magically hidden until such a time when the wisdom is needed. As Eric ascends the mountain, he encounters an ancient curse: the souls of the people who died in that region are stuck in bardo, caught in the shadow world between physical life on Earth and Nirvana.
Cursed Mountain was developed by Deep Silver Vienna, and is rated Mature. For more information, visit cursedmountain.deepsilver.com.
