Demon hunters, rejoice! Devil’s hunt, a “bombastic punch-em-up” from 1C Entertainment and Layopi Games, is making its way to the Nintendo Switch. The news coincides with the announcement of a delay of the PS4 and Xbox One versions, with all three now set for release in the first quarter of 2020.

The PC version, on the other hand, will launch on Steam on September 17th if you’d rather not wait.

Based on the novel Equilibrium by Paweł Leśniak, ”Devil’s Hunt is a third-person action game in which players will fight their way through Hell, Jerusalem, and…Miami?

Step into the designer shoes of Desmond, your not-so-friendly neighbourhood anti-hero and general Miami nuisance. Turns out, he’s forged a deal with the devil and is firmly planted in the middle of a cosmic struggle between angels and demons. With the fate of humankind hanging in the balance, Desmond must come to grips with his demonic new powers as he literally punches his way through hell, taking down all manner of fearsomely angelic and demonic creatures.

Someone will have to explain to me why video game developers prefer to portray humans as the innocent bystanders in the battle between angels and demons. A simple comparison of who has caused the most damage and torment overtime should reveal that humans are obviously the bad guys in every single scenario.

But until a historically accurate game is released, let’s focus on the features of this one. Devil’s Hunt provides:

  • a captivating storyline based on an original novel
  • almost 100 high-quality cutscenes of up to 2 hours’ duration
  • the ability to change forms between humans and demons, both with useful skills
  • TPP melee combat with a large variety of attacks, combos, and enemies
  • rich, context-sensitive environment interactions
