Donkey Kong Land to Release on 3DS VC in Japan
With Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze released on the Wii U last month, it seems fitting that a classic DK title might be re-released, to snugly fit into one of those spare squares on your 3DS home screen. At least if your 3DS lives in Japan.
Originally released in 1995, the Game Boy classic Donkey Kong Land is due to hit the 3DS virtual console in Japan next week – April 4 to be precise – for 411 Yen. There’s no news on a Western Release at this stage but stay tuned for any updates.

This is actually really exciting – if only because Rare was the dev, and I didn’t think we’d ever be seeing anything from Rare released as a VC title again on a Nintendo platform. I hope this could mean the eventual re-release of the DK Country titles for SNES on VC. I put-off downloading them the first time around until it was too late. I own the original carts, but I wouldn’t mind digital copies now.
