As reported by Thomson Financial, Enterbrain attributes a 21.7 percent increase of the ¥292.8 billion ($2.54 billion) Japanese game market between March 26th and September 23rd of this year largely to the success of the Nintendo DS.

The DS, which Enterbrain says sold 3.478 million units (including both DS and DS Lite) in the fiscal first half, outsold Sony’s PSP, at 1.07 million units, about three to one.
