Another nameless entry joining the Super Smash Bros. cast … I’m all for new characters, but only if they make sense (like Mega Man) Animal Crossing & Wii Fit are not ideal franchises to pick from in my honest opinon. I think this illustrates, in part, Nintendo’s decreasing new IP’s in recent years. Nevertheless, odd additions and all, I’m still looking forward to the game.

Guess you didn’t read the interview that Sakurai stated “Wii Fit Trainer was added as a character because no one wanted her”.

Incorrect, I did. This is a short vid, where he briefly talks about how ‘pretty much no one imagined she’d be a new character’ … http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=204721

Either way, I don’t see it as a bad thing. Think of it as Sakurai’s way of testing. If characters like Villager and Wii Fit Trainer can go in, what’s stopping them from adding oddities like Vaati, King K. Rool or Ghirahim?

Definitely one of the more unusual choices for a Smash Fighter, but then again, Smash Bros is ANYTHING but your usual fighter lol I’m looking forward to see how a fitness expert copes with the high-octane action. Fitness Fu, anyone?

It seems commenters here are much more lax than everywhere else. Or at least they have a more level head. Although I’m not a fan of the wii fit trainer, as she seems king of alien to the whole nintendo cast, I’d rather her than the possibility of a tekken character.
