Washington, DC – May 19, 2008 – The Honorable Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, will speak at the 2008 E3 Media & Business Summit on Wednesday, July 16, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) announced today. In addition, the ESA today released the official Summit exhibitor list, stating that the event’s exhibit space is expected to sell out shortly. The 2008 E3 Media & Business Summit, an invitation-only event hosted by the ESA, will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 15-17, 2008.

“Governor Perry and the E3 Media & Business Summit are both great success stories. The Governor’s keynote address is especially timely given the high concentration of entertainment software developers and publishers in Texas as well as the state’s long-standing support of our industry,” said Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA, which represents U.S. computer and video game publishers. “The Governor’s forward-thinking leadership in encouraging the growth and development of our $18 billion industry is a roadmap for other state executives who want to transform their state economies for the 21st century.”

A fifth generation Texan, Governor Rick Perry took an extraordinary Texas journey, from a tenant farm along the rolling plains of West Texas to the governor’s office of our nation’s second largest state. Texas’ 47th governor, and the first Texas A&M graduate to occupy the Texas Governor’s Mansion, Rick Perry has led a life of public service, serving four and a half years in the United States Air Force, and nearly two decades in elected office as a state representative, commissioner of agriculture, lieutenant governor and now governor. Governor Perry has focused his administration on creating a Texas of unlimited opportunity and prosperity through initiatives to improve education and the Texas job climate, keep taxes low and ensure state spending is disciplined. Governor Perry is the current Chairman of the Republican Governors Association.

The ESA said with early RSVPs they were going to meet their attendance expectation of 4,000 individuals.
