Crema is bringing first-person shooter Immortal Redneck to the Nintendo Switch. The Egyptian-themed game features roguelike elements and will be available on May 10.

The game follows the adventures of Redneck, a character who awakens as a mummy after crashing his dune buggy in Egypt. As Redneck, you’ll blast your way through procedurally generated pyramids to discover who wrapped him.

Immortal Redneck caters for the trigger happy, featuring over 50 weapons to try. These range from ancient relics to plasma rifles, which you’ll use to blast your way through a host of mythological creatures. Additionally, you can upgrade your skills and search for scrolls that alter the game.

With each death, Redneck rises back to life. Between each run, you can spend your money – from plundering those ancient Egyptian temples – on stat upgrades, classes, abilities and scrolls.

The scrolls seem to add a new element to the game, changing each run in a way that’s designed to keep you on your toes. These can be risky, with positive and negative scrolls that add fun permutations. Fro example, a scroll called the Troll’s Foot will provide immunity from lava and acid; the Caution or Wet Floor scrolls have a negative effect though, causing Redneck to slide around, unable to stop.

Immortal Redneck will be available on Nintendo Switch for $19.99 USD / €19.99 / £17.99 from May 10.
