I’ve been in a big Link’s Awakening kick lately, so discovering this faithful recreation of the classic Gameboy title in Minecraft brought me an extra bit of joy.

Youtube users CerebralBoreQ and Sebcap26 decided to recreate Koholint Island from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening using Minecraft’s creative mode.  The YouTube users even went so far as to recreate the intro.  What follows is a tour of the dream island, including locations such as Mt. Tamarach, Mabe Village, Kanalet Castle, Toronbo Shores, and the Face Shrine.

This isn’t just a 2-D recreation.  CerebralBoreQ and Sebcap26 added in geographical layers as they appear in the game, so you will be traveling through this map exactly as you would in the gameboy original.  I doesn’t look like you can walk into any of the dungeons or caves, but I can’t hold that against them.

For those curious, here is a shot of the entire map:

Passion projects like these are always great to see,.  I can’t wait to see what people come up with in the future!
