Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 has launched on the Nintendo Switch eShop today.

The game brings the robot-busting, fast-paced action adventures of the classic Mega Man X series to the Switch for the first time. There are two collections, with Mega Man X Legacy Collection including X1-4 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 including X5-8, bringing all eight games from the futuristic X series, with a range of new bonus features.

The Mega Man X series began in 1993 on the SNES, powering up the blue bomber and introducing new mechanics to the classic Mega Man formula. The game brought with it powerful armor upgrades, wall-jumping, and dashing. The legacy collections contain further enhancements and exclusive features:

  • X Challenge Mode – Brand new multi-boss challenge mode complete with three difficulty options and online leaderboards.
  • Rookie Hunter Mode – An all-new easy mode turning down the difficulty for newcomers.
Improved visuals and options – Three visual filters to enjoy including a retro CRT simulation filter, a smooth filter for cleaner sprites or the choice to enjoy the original graphics scaled to modern screens.
  • Museum of the era – Step back in time and explore the rich history of the Mega Man X series! The museum contains a huge collection of archived art, collectible merchandise, historical trailers and in-game music from each title. Also included is The Day of Σ, an animated short film exploring the beginnings of Sigma’s rebellion.

Each collection is now available individually digitally and at retail as a combo pack in North America. To celebrate the release of the Mega Man X Legacy Collections, Capcom has released a launch trailer, which you can check out below.
