While we await details on Metroid 4, Nintendo Switch gamers will have another Metroidvania style game to help pass the time. UNTIES and Cat Nigiri have announced that their retro adventure-platformer Necrosphere Deluxe will be released in the Nintendo eShop on January 31st.
Necrosphere Deluxe centers around super-secret agent Terry Cooper who dies on a failed mission and awakens in The Necrosphere. This means he’ll be facing an afterlife filled with dangerous obstacles, devious traps, deadly enemies as he attempts to escape and return to the Normalsphere.
The game features simple, two-button controls, but will still present a hefty challenge even for those familiar with the genre, according to Caio Lopez, founder of Cat Nigiri. “Necrosphere Deluxe’s simple controls and bite-sized but devilish trials will help new players improve their skills while simultaneously presenting hardcore platformer fans with the most difficult game they will ever play with two buttons.”
Thankfully, frequent respawn points will drop Terry right back into action, allowing players to quickly adapt their strategy and conquer the task at hand.
Necrosphere Deluxe will be available on Nintendo Switch for $9.99 in English, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Russian, Korean, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. More information is available at www.catnigiri.com.
