It’s been rumored to happen for a little while now but we now have confirmation directly from Nintendo:

Set a reminder – a new Nintendo Direct, featuring around 35 minutes of information on
upcoming Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch titles, is coming this Thursday, Sept. 6, at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET.
