There has been quite a but of news floating around about Team Ninja’s Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge.  Team Ninja continues to lay great news on Nintendo fans including “After launch we are preparing a long list of free downloadable content for Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge.  We can’t give details this evening, but we can tell you that series fans are going to love it.”  The new version of Ninja Gaiden releasing for the Wii U will include Ayane (pictured above) as a playable character.  Ayane, a character from the Dead or Alive franchise, will have her own set of moves similar to her appearance Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and additional cut scenes that explain her involvement in the story.  The GamePad touchscreen will be used for weapon selection, to perform Ninpo (Ryu Hayabusa’s magic) and other game information.  Decapitation and dismemberment are included in Razor’s Edge so expect the game to be getting an M for Mature rating.  The Lunar Staff and Dual Katanas are exclusive weapons for the Razor’s Edge version of the game.  The ‘Karma Counter’, which was a feature in previous Ninja Gaiden games, will be returning for Razor’s Edge.  Players will be able to spend their Karma within an upgrade menu to improve things like weapons, Ninpo, special moves and the length of their health bar.  Razor’s Edge will also support cooperative online play.  Team Ninja has been diligently listening to fan feedback and have improved the game for the Wii U release so I expect this game to be pretty spectacular.  To get a feel for what Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is all about, take a look at the trailer below.
