Don’t let the prospect of another Monday get you down, instead it’s time to look ahead to this week’s eShop releases in Europe. This Thursday sees a rather long list of games hit Nintendo’s online store, from new releases, demos and discounts, to some nice Virtual Console treats.

  • Frankenstein – Master of Death (Joindots, €7.99 / £5.99) – this hidden-object game presents a series of point-and-click puzzles as you help Victor Frankenstein solve clues and face monsters.
  • Mortar Melon (Nitrolic Games, €5.00 / £4.49 ) – the melon-slinging puzzle game moves from smart devices to the Wii U. It’s a physics-based game where you fling watermelon through multiple tricky stages.
  • Plenty of Fishies (Nitrolic Games, €5.00 / £4.49 ) – eat smaller fish to make your fish grow in this multiplayer game featuring several modes and challenges, plus an online leaderboard.
  • 360 Breakout (nuGAME, €7.00 / £6.00) – the classic Breakout formula with a 360 degree spin – remove the blocks by bouncing the ball back and forth with your two rotating bumpers in a completely circular puzzle.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Super Paper Mario (Nintendo, €19.99 / £17.99) – this title was originally released in 2007 for the Wii, and comes as a nice distraction before the release of its successor in October. It’s a charming title with an entertaining story and featuring elements of platforming and role-playing in a nicely meshed 2D and 3D world.

  • Doll Fashion Atelier (Teyon, €4.99 / £4.49) – this dress-up game lets you style a variety of dolls across five themes, with Miiverse sharing.

3DS Retail Download

  • Teddy Together (Nintendo) – this friendship game is coming to Australia after releasing in Europe last month. Here you care for and interact with a teddy bear that’s come to life.

New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console

  • Mega Man X2 (Capcom, €3.99 / £3.59 until 25th August if you own Mega Man X3, otherwise €7.99 / £7.19) – this 1994 spin-off was originally released on the SNES. Set six months after the original X game, this action-platformer sees protagonist X return to fight a trio of androids known as X-hunters.
  • Mega Man X3 (Capcom, €3.99 / £3.59 until 25th August if you own Mega Man X3, otherwise €7.99 / £7.19) – this 1995 game was also originally released on the SNES and follows the same action-platforming style of the Mega Man series.
