Happy Monday to our European friends! Here to inspire your start to the week is the latest eShop releases coming your way from Nintendo. This week we finally see SteamWorld Dig hit the Wii U, as well as the first round of Mario Kart 8 downloadable content, among a few other tasty discounts and virtual console treats.

Wii U eShop

  • SteamWorld Dig (Image & Form, €8.99 / £6.99) – released almost a year ago on the 3DS, this popular indie title now makes its way to the Wii U, with improved visuals to enhance your exploration through those mines, littered with jewels and enemies. This is an addictive game that gamers should not miss out on – check out our 3DS review for confirmation, and watch for our upcoming Wii U review.

Wii U eShop Promotion

  • SteamWorld Dig (Image & Form, €6.49 / £4.99) – owners of the 3DS version will be able to download the Wii U version at 25% off the regular price.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Mario Golf: Advance Tour (Nintendo, €6.99 / £6.29) – Mario’s golfing series continues, this time with some RPG elements thrown into the basic gameplay, making it a fan favorite.

Wii U DLC

  • Mario Kart 8 (Nintendo, free) – the first DLC for the latest entry into the series, with several changes to the game, such as menu fixes, but more importantly, three new vehicles – the modern Mercedes-Benz GLA, the 300 SL Roadster from the 1950s and the legendary Silver Arrow of the 1930s.
  • Zen Pinball 2 (Zen Studio) – the following tables will also have a free trial available.

3DS Virtual Console

  • Mega Man V (Capcom, €3.99 / £3.59) – this was the final Game Boy Mega Man titles, first arriving in 1994. This title diverges from the NES series to provide players with plenty of new weapons to try, bosses to fight, and – most iportantly – fun to be had.
