This week’s upcoming releases for the Nintendo eShop are here to brighten your Monday in Europe. Discounts and retro goodness are the orders of the day, with some real treats in store across the Wii U and 3DS eShops this Thursday.

Wii U Virtual Consol

  • Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge (Capcom, €6.99 / £6.29) – the second spin-off to hit the Wii U’s Virtual Console library, this was originally released on the Game Boy Advance in 2004 and continues the same turn-based principles as its predecessor, though here you’l be battling through a tournament to win a rare Battle Chip.
  • Mach Rider (Nintendo, €3.99 / £3.59) – an early NES title touted as a futuristic driving game, this was originally released in 1987 in Europe and features fun and fast-paced racing with some combat elements, and even a basic level editor. Note: this is the US version of the game.

  • Rabi Laby 3 (Agetec, €4.99 / £4.49) – moving from DSiWare to the 3DS for the first time, this title is all about clever puzzles that require you to manoeuvre two characters. Not much has changed or evolved but it’s still fun and charming in its own way.

3DS Virtual Console

  • Mega Man II (Capcom, €3.99 / £3.59) – another Mega Man game to be retrofitted this week, this one hailing from the NES era and helping to kick off a month of Mega Man games.
  • Xtreme Sports (WayForward, €4.99 / £4.49) – a Game Boy Color title that combines a host of sports, presented with a twist, while you also explore the island / venue to find friends, enemies and even hidden treats.

3DS eShop Temporary Discounts
