As the week draws to a close it’s time to reveal what’s in store on the Nintendo eShop in Europe this week. It’s a nicely diverse week, with major releases like Splatoon 2 to keep most people occupied, plus plenty of other action to get into.

Nintendo Switch Retail Download
- Splatoon 2 (Nintendo, €59.99 / £49.99) – Nintendo’s next big thing for the Switch, this is the highly anticipated sequel to the Wii U smash hit, with a more solid solo campaign and the centrepiece of online multiplayer. Available from 21st July.
- Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star (XSEED, €54.99 / £49.99) – this stylish hack ‘n’ slash game includes several bonuses on the Switch and includes over 30 previously-released paid DLC outfits for free, plus an exclusive ‘Unshackled Bride’ outfit. Available from 21st July.
- Cave Story+ (Nicalis, €29.99 / £26.99) – This charmingly retro platforming game includes HD visuals and plenty of content. Free updates will also add new visuals and a co-op mode in time, too – we thoroughly enjoyed this version in our Cave Story+ review.
Nintendo Switch eShop
- Boost Beast (Arc System Works, €9.99 / £8.99) – This developer has a history with spin-offs like Yoshi and Pikmin, with this latest outing hailing from smart devices. It’s a colorful match-3 game, with its own ideas and flair added.
- Samurai Shodown (HAMSTER, €6.99 / £6.29) – This is the Neo Geo ACA iteration of the titular 1993 game, set in 18th century Japan. The Samurai Shodown series was pivotal in the early development of the fighting genre, with weapon-centric gameplay.
New Nintendo 3DS eShop
- Infinite Golf (Petite Games, €1.99 / £1.79) – this stylish yet simplistic golfing game sees you flicking a golf ball towards the pin. There’s an arcade mode that limits your shots or a more relaxed Endless Mode – “there is always one more level”.
