It’s that time of week, as the European eShop has been updated with a whole host of new gaming delights to pique your interest. Our half-genie heroine, Shantae, makes her Switch debut, and there’s a lot of Wii U love this week, with a couple of new games, a VC release and a whole horde of discounts.

  • Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (WayForward, €16.99 / £15.99) – following last year’s HD debut of Shantae comes the first release for our heroine on the Nintendo Switch. This is a platforming delight, full of adventure and flair. We were huge fans of the Wii U version of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.

  • Shock Troopers 2nd Squad (Hamster, €6.99 / £6.29) – this overhead run-and-gun title shakes things up from original, adding the ability to jump into vehicles and go through levels with increased firepower.   • I am an Air Traffic Controller Airport Hero Hawaii (Sonic Powered Co., €14.99 / £13.49) – here you play the role of an air traffic controller in Hawaii.
  • Of Mice and Sand (CIRCLE Entertainment, €7.99 / £7.89) – this is a quirky real-time management sim, where you support mice working within a mobile fortress by improving their facilities and capabilities to attract more mice to the vessel.
