It’s Monday and that means it’s time to reveal the latest round of releases due to hit the European eShop this Thursday. With new indie releases, Virtual Console goodness, tempting discounts on games you may have missed and much more, there’s plenty on offer to bump up your 3DS and Wii U collections.

  • Futuridium EP Deluxe (Mixed Bag, €7.99 / £5.99 until 2nd June, then €9.99/ £7.99) – this futuristic shooter involves flying and shooting through extremely colorful environments.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Mario Slam Basketball (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) – this 2006 (2007 in Europe) Nintendo DS game does for basketball what Mario Kart does for kart racing, taking the sport and adding a touch of Mario tricks to enhance the game, plus stylus controls.

  • Epic Word Search Collection 2 (Lightwood Games, €7.99 / £5.99) – this word search game includes five new categories plus flip controls and 1500 words per puzzle to keep you searching for many hours.
  • Smash Cat Heroes (Tom Create, €2.49 / £1.99) – this top-down action game sees you play as a samurai cat hacking and slashing your way across feudal Japan.
  • Samurai Defender (CIRCLE Entertainment, €2.99 / £2.39) – included again but actually released last year comes this side-on castle defense game set in Japan. Tapping on enemies attacks them, and you’ll earn coins and level up to boost your abilities.

3DS DLC

  • Fire Emblem Fates – Map 2: Boo Camp (Nintendo, or part of map pack 1) – A test of the nerves awaits in Boo Camp, when the army spends the night on a haunted mountain. Those who survive ’til morning are said to come out stronger for the experience, but is that just another ghost story?
  • Fire Emblem Fates – Map 3: Beach Brawl (Nintendo, or part of map pack 1) – In Beach Brawl, Corrin has been awarded hotly contested tickets to a vacation resort. With only one ticket up for grabs, it falls to the royal retainers to fight for the honour—and leisure—of their lieges.
