Today is Monday and that can only mean one thing – it’s time to discover what Nintendo has lined up for its PAL eShoppers this week. And although we have fewer titles on offer than usual, that’s probably due to the fact that one of the year’s most anticipated games is finally hitting the 3DS.

Wii U eShop

  • 99Seconds (EnjoyUp Games, €2.49 / £2.29) – this budget title is a race against time. A retro-style continuing in the tradition of 99Bullets, here you’ll be modifying time to avoid all kinds of dangers.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Street Fighter Alpha 2 (Capcom, €7.99 / £5.49) – hailing from 1996 on the SNES, this spin-off of the core Street Fighter franchises features new characters and combo moves to shake things up, all in a nicely distinct art style of its own.

3DS eShop Retail Download

  • Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (Nintendo, €44.99 / £39.99) – this week’s big arrival is the portable debut of one of Nintendo’s core franchises. Check out our review if you’re still on the fence, but this is basically the game you’ve been waiting all year to play, and will be available from October 3.

3DS Virtual Console

  • Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight (Capcom, €4.99 / £4.49) – this is a unique Street Fighter spin-off that’s more of an 2D action platformer. set in a sci-fi world. This is the first time we’ve seen this game in PAL regions, as it was only ever released on Japanese and North American NES systems way back in 1990.
