Nintendo has released information about the number of Switch console sold to date, officially reaching the 10 million mark since launch.

The hybrid console went on sale in March 2017, and Nintendo has now revealed that the console’s first nine months have been very productive, according to their internal sales figures.

Nintendo are, no doubt, pleased with the results, which can be partially attributed to the strong line up of big titles that came throughout the year. Games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, ARMS and Splatoon 2 all contributed to a continued momentum for the console.

Nintendo are also quick to point out their 2018 lineup, which includes the likes of Kirby Star Allies, Bayonetta 1 and 2, and a new Yoshi game. Third-party titles like Wolfenstein II, Mega Man 11, and Shovel Knight are also set to be released next year.

The Switch was also responsible for delivering some recent awards for Nintendo. At the Game Awards in Los Angeles last week, Super Mario Odyssey won Best Family Game and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild won Game of the Year, Best Action/Adventure Game and Best Game Direction.

All in all, it’s been a good year for the Big N. Are you enjoying using your Switch? how do you feel about what 2018 has to offer? Let us know in the comments section below.
