E3 2019 kicks off in Los Angeles next Tuesday, and whether you’re attending as industry, media or a gamer, Nintendo is making it easier for you to get some playing time with their games. This is especially worthwhile now that we know their playable games will include Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, Luigi’s Mansion 3, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order.
The free Warp Pipe Pass will provide attendees priority access in line during their designated time to line up and play. Consider it like that Fast Pass at Disney World that allows you skip the lines for Haunted Mansion and such. You will a Nintendo account and a valid E3 2019 badge to sign up, which you can start doing at 5 p.m. PDT today at experience.nintendo.com. Warp Pipe Passes are available to reserve until 11:59 p.m. PT the day before they can be used, or until all the passes are claimed, whichever comes first (and you know which one that will be).
Those who aren’t attending E3 can still get in on the Nintendo goodness. Nintendo Treehouse: Live will broadcast a livestream from Nintendo’s booth to provide viewers live gameplay and commentary throughout the event. Nintendo Early Access at Best Buy will see 80 Best Buy locations across the country hosting Nintendo Early Access events for MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order.
Also, fans in New York can visit the Nintendo NY store for a variety of activities, including viewing parties for the tournaments, Nintendo Direct and Nintendo Treehouse: Live; hands-on gameplay with select Nintendo Switch games featured at E3. All events are free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis and will provide attendees the chance to receive exclusive premium items from the show via giveaways (while supplies last).
Finally, Nintendo will offer a full week of discounts on select digital Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS games in Nintendo eShop and on Nintendo.com. The sale starts with the opening of the Nintendo Direct at 10 a.m. PDT on June 11 and will run through 11:59 p.m. PDT on June 18. The full list of discounted games will be available e3.nintendo.com/sale.
