Nintendo’s New Wii U Overview Video Aims To Eliminate Consumer Confusion
Many have said that the Wii U was a terrible choice on Nintendo’s part when naming the successor to the immensely popular Wii from the previous console generation. The name, Wii U, has seemed to cause confusion among consumers and some people seem to think that the Wii U is just a new controller or peripheral for the Wii. Nintendo has been struggling to market the console while also trying to help consumers differentiate the Wii U from the Wii. With this new Wii U overview video, Nintendo hopes to clarify to consumers once and for all that the Wii U is in fact an entirely new game console with new features and games. Nintendo does a fairly thorough run down on the Wii U and doesn’t leave much to question. Hopefully Nintendo can continue to educate consumers on the Wii U and eliminate this consumer confusion that seems to still exist despite being on store shelves for over a year now.

That 2 minute, 5 second video perfectly explained why WiiU was a horrible name. You shouldn’t have to say half of things said in that video. The fact that the market doesn’t understand its a new system is what makes the name so wrong.
Only plus will be the next system will have a whole new name. Hopefully with the world Nintendo back in it.
