Even with Nintendo almost doubling supply of the Wii this year it still ran out during the holidays. I am not sure if it was because people wanted a hot item, or people wanted a Wii.

I think the reason Wii has sold so well and continues to do so is because it is a great system, at a very reasonable price, and has games that the whole family can enjoy. Which makes it easy for people to spend money on because it can be considered a “family gift”.
