It’s been awhile, but we’re back with another Pure Nintendo playlist to give gaming inspiration for the weekend! What are we playing at the moment? It’s safe to say Mario is going to make the cut, but there’s always a few indie titles ready to impress us as well.

Let’s find out what’s been taking up space on our Switch lately!

  • Harvest Moon The Winds of Anthos (Switch) – I’m currently working on my review of this game. Winds of Anthos is a highly anticipated release by Natsume, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this beloved farming sim. I’m a huge Harvest Moon fan so I was excited about this one. So far I’m really enjoying my time with it. It feels like a normal Harvest Moon game, but there’s more of an adventure aspect this time. There are also a ton of cool new features, and animals that you can raise on your farm. I look forward to progressing and seeing what else is in store.
  • And, of course, what would my week be, without a little Splatoon 3 in between :D

  • Alphadia I & II (Switch) – Finishing my review of this collection. Two RPGs in one sounds like a slam dunk, but I’ve mixed feelings on these, so stay tuned to learn more.
  • Sonic Superstars (Switch) – I’ve just scratched the surface, but pretty good so far. Tough timing when two big games release within days of each other. The bosses drag out, but the early levels are entertaining and remind me somewhat of why I first became a fan of the blue blur.
  • Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Switch) – My preorder arrived late, but it’s a price to pay for a physical copy. My wife and I are taking our time, enjoying two-player co-op. While I really long for an option where players can bounce off each other (patch update Nintendo?), this is shaping up to be one of my favorite games of the year. Looking forward to talking about it more on a future podcast.

  • Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Switch) – It’s safe to say I was very excited by the announcement of this game a few short months ago. I’ve been waiting for a new entry into the 2D Mario series for ten years! Was it worth the wait? I’d rather not have waited this long, but I am loving this title. It’s so vibrant, colorful, and .. well, fun! There’s a lot more to it than I expected and I’m having a blast trying to collect all the badges and discover every nook and cranny this wonderful title has to offer!
  • Sunshine Manor (Switch) – Just in time for Halloween earlier this week, I was playing this creepy title set in a haunted mansion. It’s got a super-cool retro vibe as you wander the halls of Sunshine Manor to help ghosts reach the other side. Highly recommended! Check out my Sunshine Manor review for the full story.
