New and remastered content for the classic match-3/RPG.

Even before yesterday’s Nintendo Direct began, Nintendo fans were getting good news about Switch remakes. D3 Go! and Infinity Plus 2 made a splash of their own with the announcement that Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns is coming to the Switch on September 19th.

In this particular case, the release is much more than a remake. Although it does contain 1080p remasters of the original Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords and Revenge of the Plague Lord expansion content, The Legend Returns is a brand a new chapter in Puzzle Quest series, offering new quests, classes, spells, items, and much more.

Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns is a unique match-3 puzzle game wrapped in a deep and immersive strategy and role-playing experience. Explore the many locations within the kingdom of Etheria, deep in the Agarian Forest, rekindling relationships or making new ones along your path. Head into battle and match three or more gems in a row to gain mana used to cast spells, clash with opponents, collect items and rewards, increase experience, and ultimately be VICTORIOUS!

Blending match-3 puzzle content with elements from other genres is nothing new, but it’s possible no game nailed the match-3 / RPG combo quite like Puzzle Quest. Although luck is certainly a factor, strategy and preparation are just as important as you battle your way across the kingdom of Etheria. Players will be able to tailor their play around the attack style of their favorite character classes or from one of five new ones: Blood Mage, Priest, Monk, Paladin, and Elementalist. Choose wisely, as you’ll use that character to face 100 new quests, spells, and items, along with a host of new monsters, bosses, and more.

Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns is available to pre-purchase on the Nintendo eShop for $14.99. For more information, visit d3go.com.
