Refurbished Hardware Now Available On Nintendo’s Online Store
If gamers are looking to pick up a 3DS but don’t necessarily want to pay full price for a new hardware unit, official refurbished Nintendo hardware units are now available on Nintendo’s official store. The units come with a one year warranty just like a brand new unit and some of the refurbished units come bundled with a brand new game! There is a limited selection of units currently available but hopefully Nintendo expands their selection and begin to include home consoles as well.
Authentic Nintendo Refurbished Products are the only refurbished products in the market that have been cleaned, tested, and inspected to meet Nintendo’s high standards. They come with a one year warranty – the same warranty we offer on our new products. These products are only available directly from Nintendo.
Authentic Nintendo Refurbished Products are guaranteed to be fully functional, but may have minor cosmetic blemishes.

I’m guessing the refurbished machines don’t come with Club Nintendo codes though …?

If I had to guess, I would say that they probably do not come with Club Nintendo codes.

Well it depends if the previous owner registered the serial code on the hardware or not. If they didn’t, then there should be no reason that the serial code wouldn’t work for you….

The serial code on the hardware isn’t what gets you the coins though … it’s the code that comes inside the packaging. For instance, my 3DS is registered in my Club Nintendo account right now, but I’m holding off on collecting my coins until July.
