Renegade Kid now focused on a past endeavor
Earlier today, Co-founder and Director at Renegade Kid, Jools Watsham, captured an image of one of his projects that has been under development for quite some time. After reaching out to Watsham, I can now confirm that the studio is laser focused on bringing his title to life and into the hands of Nintendo 3DS owners.
Originally announced in 2013, Treasurenauts was expected to release the following year but unfortunately went on hiatus. After speaking with Watsham at E3 2015, the co-founder and director mentioned to Pure Nintendo that Treasurenauts would have to wait until the Dementium Remastered series was complete. Now that Dementium Remastered has been submitted to Nintendo of America, Pure Nintendo has followed up with Watsham and asked if Treasurenauts will be the studio’s main focus moving forward. Here’s what he said to say:
“Yes, now that Dementium Remastered has been submitted to NOA my main focus is Treasurenauts. We are working with the fine folks at Nighthawk to bring the game to fruition, and will be looking at a 2016 release. More details on a release window to come.”
At this time, the 2D action-platformer is exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS handheld.
