Catto’s Post Office has plenty of charm, offering a short, cozy adventure about delivering mail, helping neighbors, and enjoying life’s quieter moments. While I appreciated its relaxing atmosphere and wholesome message, I couldn’t shake the feeling that it ended just as it was getting started. Sometimes the smallest games leave the biggest impression, but I’m not sure that was the case here.

You play as Catto, the towns “friendly feline mail carrier”, spending the day delivering letters and packages while meeting the locals along the way. Between deliveries, you’ll stumble across small side activities, help residents with simple tasks, and take in the peaceful surroundings. Nothing about the game is particularly complex, in fact it’s quite simple, but that’s by design. It’s meant to be relaxing rather than challenging, and for the most part, it succeeds.

The town is full of personality, and the friendly residents help make it feel like a close community. Instead of chasing huge objectives or dramatic story beats, Catto’s Post Office focuses on everyday interactions. There’s something comforting about slowing down and helping others without feeling rushed.

My biggest issue, however, is just how quickly everything comes to an end. After finishing Catto’s workday and heading home for the evening, I honestly expected the next day to begin and the adventure to continue. Instead, the credits rolled. It caught me completely off guard. I wasn’t expecting a lengthy game, but I did expect there to be more than a single day. It left me feeling less satisfied than I had hoped because it seemed like the game was only beginning to open up before it was suddenly over.

The controls also take a little getting used to. They aren’t terrible, but they never feel quite as smooth or precise as they should. Certain interactions can be a bit awkward, making a few tasks more frustrating than they need to be. Particularly the one with the shopping carts. Sometimes Catto has to move objects around and instead of grabbing them and moving them, you just run into them and hope they go in the right direction. It’s not enough to ruin the experience, but it does get frustrating occasionally.

Despite those shortcomings, Catto’s Post Office is still an easy game to appreciate. It delivers a heartfelt experience filled with warmth and a reminder to enjoy the little things. I just wish it had given players another day or two, to spend in its charming world. With a bit more content and slightly tighter controls, this could have been something truly special. For those looking for a quick 30- to 60-minute game to delve in to, this could be the one for you. But if you’re searching for something with a little more depth, you might want to hold out on this one.
Review: Cattos Post Office (Nintendo Switch)
Good
Catto’s Post Office is a charming, cozy adventure with a lot of heart, but its extremely short runtime and awkward controls hold it back. While the relaxing atmosphere and wholesome message are enjoyable, the experience ends just as it feels like it’s getting started. It’s a nice game for those looking for a brief, laidback adventure, but players hoping for something with a little depth may be left wanting more.
