(Updated) Confirmed: Nintendo showing off a new Mario game for the Wii U

Nintendo has confirmed this information with this statement below.
“In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U system will be shown at this year’s E3 Expo. We’ll have more to announce about our plans for the E3 Expo at a later date.”
The only reason I am putting this as a rumor is the source. I have no clue about the source and the only reason I am hesitating about it has to do with the fact it is weird for Miyamoto to announce a game like this before E3.
During a recent interview with a Spanish newspaper. Mr. Miyamoto has claimed Nintendo will be showing off a new Wii U Mario game. The game is said to use both screens, controller and TV. Not much more information is known besides that.
