Rumor: The Pokemon Company first to go hands-on with DS2 Motion-Sensing Dev Kits
The rumoured DS2 development kits are in the hands of select developers in Japan – and include a motion-sensing function, CVG can reveal.
The biggest of the firms working with the device is The Pokemon Company, which CVG understands was the first third-party business to be offered the dev kit.
“It’s genuinely the best thing I think I’ve ever worked with,” he said. “I can tell you that it’s got a ’tilt’ function that’s not dissimilar to iPhone, but does a lot more. We know that The Pokemon Company are getting special attention with it.” – CVG’s Industry Source
“Any kind of March announcement wouldn’t fit with the timeline I understand the second DS to be on,” he added.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear even more rumors over the next week. Most of them seem to revolve around a new DS in the works, but this rumor seems to indicate that we won’t hear about the DS2 in March (presumably at GDC). The next 8 days leading up to Nintendo’s Media Summit (Feb. 24) are going to be very interesting. Check out the link for more info from CVG’s insider.

I am starting to believe that there will be a DS2 anounced at GDC or the meida summit. I am starting to get the same vibe I got, with all the rumors before the DSi was announced. My Nintendo sense’s are also tingleing.
