13AM Games, the developer behind the wonderful Runbow, has revealed a new platforming game to the world, with Double Cross set to hit the Nintendo Switch this summer.
The game involves an interdimensional mission to save the multiverse, with players travelling through time and space as agent Zahra. As a member of RIFT (Regulators of Interdimensional Frontiers and Technology), Zahra’s job is to maintain peace and order between all dimensions. An attack opens a new case in which players must use special RIFT-developed gear to sling, swing, fight and investigate across distinct dimensions.
In Double Cross, players can customize their play style by collecting something with the handy name of Upgradium, using it to level up. The gameplay also allows players to choose how and in what order they play levels.
Double Cross will be playable at this year’s PAX East by visiting the Graffiti Games booth, 21019. In the meantime, check out the launch trailer below to see the game in action. Double Cross will hit the Nintendo Switch this summer.

I wish they had put as much character and detail in a lot of those backgrounds shown in the trailer as they’ve put in the characters in the game, it comes off as levels so lacking that they’re akin to an unfinished game. This game also has no excuses as I’ve seen plenty of 2d side scrolling games (including indie) that have done background for levels well. And though I’ve enjoyed games with old graphics and no graphics other than text, that stuff bugs me so much that I wouldn’t even buy it on a sale.
