Spike TV today announced that Samuel L. Jackson will host the fifth annual Spike TV Video Game Awards. This year is the third straight with Jackson as the host of the event. The 2007 Video Game Awards will take place Friday, December 7 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will premiere on Spike TV Sunday, December 9 at 9:00 ET.

The official sponsors of the 2007 Video Game Awards include Burger King, GameStop, Mountain Dew, Stride Gum, Tag, U.S. Air Force and Verizon Wireless.

The fifth VGAs will see the premiere of titles like Borderlands, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Many celebrities will make appearances, including magician Criss Angel, skateboarder Tony Hawk and rock star Dave Navarro. Fans will be able to vote on the Most Addictive Game category at www.vga.spiketv.com through Saturday, December 8.
