Autumn run out for PES 2010 on Wii

By  •  July 9, 2009
Konami announces key advances as Wii football title continues to innovate

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced the Wii version of PES 2010 will be released in Autumn, following hot on the heels of its next-gen stable mates.

PES 2010 for the Nintendo format will share the cover stars in Lionel Messi and Fernando Torres. And will also boast the extensive additions to the Master League via the integration of UEFA Champions League license elements, while the Wii game’s graphic elements have been further enhanced. However, Producer Akiyoshi ‘Greyhound’ Chosogabe and his dedicated team have also worked to add key gameplay advances to the new iteration.

Likewise, a decisive addition to PES 2010 is an all-new game balance system that affects both attacking and defensive elements of the game. The player in possession now has ‘instantaneous stamina’ in addition to his overall stamina, which prevents unbeatable runs from being used as a constant tactic. Overuse of sprinting will have an adverse affect on the player’s body balance and their immediate control of the ball. As in a real match, excessive attempts of trying to gain possession will drain the player’s stamina, further demonstrating the Wii game’s realism.

Summer Athletics 2009 for Wii introduces the Balance Board Cup

By  •  July 8, 2009

Hamburg/Germany, July 8th, 2009 – Summer Athletics 2009’s Wii™ version will support Wii Balance Board™ controls. The game is equipped with a unique Balance Board Cup.

Console athletes will need their stability on the Wii Balance Board to control their character in the contest’s five disciplines. These are high jump, triple jump, hammer throwing, high dive and archery. Players wiggle their hips around to spin the hammer and gather speed. Holding your breath and standing evenly balanced is key to hitting the mark in archery. If you center your weight right in the middle of the Wii Balance Board, you have only to adjust to cross winds to score full points.

Like all contests and challenges in Summer Athletics 2009, the Balance Board cup is available in three difficulty settings. “Easy” is recommended for players who have never played a sports game before, “Average” appeals to more experienced players and “Difficult” requires the skills of advanced players. It is possible to obtain a fourth difficulty setting called “Champion” after unlocking special achievements. “Champion” features the hardest AI competitors that will challenge even gaming veterans.
