Music remains a major frustration for most of us. Only the bravest and those who could stand those boring and tough music lessons are now able to play music and live that unique experience. For the rest, you can still try to touch that feeling by playing a rhythm based video game and shaking a plastic guitar … but it will never be (sound) the same.
BUT now with “MUSIC”, a new edutainment game for the Nintendo DS coming out in April 09, you could learn and play music in a FUN and EASY WAY!
Criminal couple found guilty for running an illegal DVD and CD copying operation
Friday 16th January/… A husband and wife team have been sentenced to seven months in prison having been found guilty of running an illegal DVD and CD copying operation in Durham. In the first successful prosecution of 2009 for such offences, the couple denied selling counterfeit goods on August 21, 2007, but were found guilty at the end of the trial. Graeme Shead, 39 and his 43-year-old wife, Sharon Shead, of Seventh Street, Horden, Durham, appeared before Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday January 13 to be sentenced for offences under the Trade Marks Act (1994) and the Video Recordings Act (1985) as a result of a prosecution brought by Durham Trading Standards.
Following undercover surveillance at local markets in the Durham area, conducted by officers from Durham Trading Standards Department as well as investigators from ELSPA (the Entertainment & Leisure Publishers Association), video footage evidence was recorded of the couple selling counterfeit goods at local markets.

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Before 2008, no video game system had ever been purchased by ten million Americans in a single year. But according to independent sales data released today by the NPD Group, the Wii™ console from Nintendo did just that, even during these economic times, with 2008 unit sales of 10.17 million. The Nintendo DS™ portable handheld system came in a close second, with 2008 unit sales of 9.95 million. Each of them broke the previous yearly unit sales record set in 2007 by Nintendo DS with sales of 8.52 million.
Consequently, Wii represented 55% of all next generation home console sales in 2008, while Nintendo DS claimed 72% of all portable system sales in 2008.
“Our type of entertainment has now moved to the point where there is no longer a question that if you offer consumers an expanded definition of what a video game can be, and deliver that idea with quality and affordability in mind, millions of new people will start playing video games,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Concepts like Wii Fit, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band never would have seemed feasible just a few years ago, and now they’re driving growth for our the entire industry.”

Once again, I’ll be looking at both the Wii and DS versions of Call of Duty: World at War together while also showing the unique aspects for each platform.
Call of Duty: World at War is the follow-up to the very popular Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. CoD4 didn’t grace the Wii, but there was a DS version that was actually a lot of fun. World at War (WaW) is definitely not CoD4 which most people will find as a disappointment, but if you take the game by itself, it really isn’t that bad.
The game starts you off in the Pacific Theatre of WWII. You have to fight your way across various islands against the Japanese. WaW really tries to emphasize the brutality of war and you’ll notice this fact from the very first cutscene, which you find you and your friends being tortured in a small hut. Throughout the game you’ll witness some pretty crazy stuff from lighting guys on fire with flame-throwers and hearing their agony, to also fighting for your life in close-quarter combat, which earns the game an M rating versus the usual T rating. While the developers were criticized for revisiting the WWII setting again, WaW does offer all new campaigns and even some new gameplay mechanics.

Become a Music Legend, Without the Need for Costly Instrument PeripheralsMilton Keynes – 505 Games is today pleased to reveal We Rock: Drum King, a brand new rhythm-action game for Nintendo Wii™, which sees you becoming the drummer in a band that’s on the road to global stardom. It’s due to rock out across Europe in April 2009.
Unlike many rhythm games, to become a music legend in We Rock: Drum King you only require two Wii Remotes, rather than having to clutter your living room with potentially expensive instruments. The remotes become your virtual drumsticks as you beat your way through 30 awesome tunes, including Bloc Party’s Banquet and Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf.
You start on the road to fame by creating your drummer and then joining a band, before performing in a range of increasingly spectacular venues – until you’re crowned the greatest rock band in the world.
Developed exclusively for the Nintendo Wii by DEL, We Rock: Drum King takes full advantage of the innovative motion-sensing capabilities of the console. The game is played by moving the remotes as if you’re ‘air drumming’. Different drums – including snare, toms, hi-hat and bass – are simulated by waving the Wii Remotes while pressing a different button.
