Latest in NARUTO Role-Playing Franchise Soon to Perform Shadow Clone Jutsu onto Store Shelves Everywhere

LOS ANGELES – September 23, 2008

TOMY Corporation and D3Publisher, publishers of interactive entertainment software, have announced that NARUTO: Path of the Ninja 2 for the Nintendo DS™ has gone gold and will be shipping to stores on October 14th. The sequel to the only NARUTO role-playing game available in North America, Path of the Ninja 2 gives players a chance to defend the Hidden Leaf Village as 30 of the most powerful ninja in the NARUTO universe through a completely original storyline.

“There has been a huge progression between the original RPG title on the DS and Path of the Ninja 2,” said Laura Yoshioka, director of consumer software at TOMY Corporation. “Between the expanded character list, the Wi-Fi battle system, and the new squad-building options, this is an adventure that should appeal to the inner ninja of players everywhere.”

Last Tuesday morning, I picked up my copy of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, even after seeing many mediocre reviews for the game.  I’m not usually deterred by what game critics say about a game and I couldn’t help my urge to swing the Wiimote around in crazy patterns to ‘unleash’ the force.

One of the first things Wii owners will notice about the game, is it’s lack of visual polish.  The game runs in 16:9 widescreen with decent visuals, but the Wii can definitely do better.  It looks like they used PS2 graphics with barely any added particle effects except for maybe some of the cutscenes and the lightning.  Despite the lack of visual flare, I couldn’t stop playing through the many areas in the Star Wars universe we’ve come to know and love.

Wii and Nintendo DS Fans Get Two Great New Games on the Same Day

REDMOND, Wash., Sept. 22, 2008 – Today, two popular Nintendo characters launch their new video games on a rare dual-launch day. Conniving Wario™ appears in Wario Land™: Shake It! for the Wii™ console, while “super tuff pink puff” Kirby™ arrives in Kirby Super Star™ Ultra for Nintendo DS™. Both characters have millions of fans, and each game plays to the strengths of its lead character.

Wario Land: Shake It! looks like a hand-drawn cartoon that players can control. It’s a classic-style side-scrolling game in which players navigate Wario through a series of enemies and hazards. The game features motion controls: Players shake the Wii Remote™ controller to help Wario shake down his enemies, free coins from treasure bags and even cause earthquakes. Wario’s narcissistic personality is on full display as he sets out to get his hands on the Bottomless Coin Sack.
