IGN Wiikly Review Summary

By  •  Wii

Victorious Boxers Revolution
– Gave the game 4.5 – was actually going to be lower, but decided against it because of the ability to use a classic controller.
– Much worse than Wii Sports boxing, which wasn’t all that great to start off with.
– Poor motion recognition.
– Camera issues, super buggy – “total pain in the ass.”

Smartypants
– Gave the game 7.0
– $49 which should be $29 at most – the content in the game is far too slim for the price they charge for it.
– It’s a fun game – “really good party game that anyone can play.” Good trivia game.

Avatar
– Gave the game 6.2
– Only decent – very straightforward game.
– Matt’s a fan of the animated series but disappointed with the games.

Nintendo’s Games Release List

WHO’S MAKING GAMES FOR NINTENDO SYSTEMS? EVERYONE!

Nintendo Unveils its Incredible Lineup of Games for the Holidays and Beyond

REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 11, 2007 – Wii™ and Nintendo DS™ continue to appeal to every kind of consumer. As Nintendo’s list of upcoming games demonstrates, Nintendo has a game or experience for everyone, no matter their taste, age or video game playing acumen. Wii games like Super Mario Galaxy™ anchor Nintendo’s lineup for the holidays, as Wii adds games faster than any other system in this generation. For Nintendo DS, Flash Focus™: Vision Training in Minutes a Day and Master of Illusion™ again will make people think of video gaming in a whole new way.

“Because of Wii and Nintendo DS momentum, third-party publishers are supporting our systems like never before,” says George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. “Their lineup of diverse games is testament to how we make the population of gamers a little bigger every day.”

Major publishers worldwide are making games for Wii and Nintendo DS. Shoppers will find dozens of options through the holiday shopping season and into 2008. By the end of 2007, the library of Wii games is expected to grow to 140, not counting nearly 200 downloadable Virtual Console™ titles, while the Nintendo DS library should be nearly 450. The following is a partial list of the upcoming games for Wii and Nintendo DS. Note that game titles and launch dates are subject to change.

By  •  Wii, DS, Screens

Hey guys! It’s been pretty busy so far today with all the news coming out from Japan! James has posted a TON of screens which are sure to get a lot of you excited for Nintendo’s fall/winter lineup.

One thing to remember is that Nintendo will also be holding a similar event in the US this afternoon. A lot of the same information will be there I’m sure, but there’s always a chance for more surprises or North American dates to be announced, so stay tuned. Don’t believe me? Well, Kotaku is going to be on the scene this afternoon and here’s the word from them:

Our own Mike “Michael” McWhertor is heading to San Francisco for a Nintendo event tomorrow. We imagine it’ll be news similar to this, but we imagine with some surprises (and North American release dates). Check back for that!

Here’s a summary of the media blitz that’s happened so far today:

A few Brawl Screens

More Mario Galaxy Screens

Wii Music Screens
