Tampa Bay Buccaneers Honors Troops This Veterans Day With Video Games
WHAT: On Monday, November 10, Buccaneers WR Maurice Stovall and DE Greg White will visit with military veterans and their families at Fisher House at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa. This will be the first time that the Buccaneers have visited Fisher House, which provides a supportive environment for families caring for loved ones recovering from war injuries. Then on Tuesday, November 11, the Buccaneers will host a video game competition with military from around the world at One Buccaneer Place in honor of Veterans Day. CB Phillip Buchanon, LB Cato June, TE Alex Smith and CB Aqib Talib will play video games against military at four separate USO stations with the help of Pro vs. GI Joe, an organization that coordinates video game contests between professional athletes and troops overseas via the internet. Local military personnel from MacDill Air Force Base as well as families of the participating military will be in attendance to enjoy the event and visit with their loved ones via satellite video. I just want to take this time to wish everyone, especially our veterans a happy Veterans day.
