Cambridge, Mass. – February 23, 2009 – Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of eight remaining tracks from The Cars’ self-titled 1978 debut album to the Rock Band® Music Store catalog of downloadable content for Wii™ home videogame console from Nintendo.

The lineup includes classic rock hits “Good Times Roll,” “My Best Friend’s Girl,” “I’m in Touch with Your World,” “Don’t Cha Stop,” “You’re All I’ve Got Tonight,” “Bye Bye Love,” “Moving in Stereo” and “All Mixed Up.” “Just What I Needed,” also featured on The Cars album, was released to the Rock Band Wii music catalog in January.

This week’s offering comes from the Rock Band® Music Store catalog of downloadable content already released to owners of Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION® 3 computer entertainment system. Wii fans can expect a rollout of the previously released downloadable content until the entire back catalogue of more than 570 songs is available. In addition, the regularly scheduled future DLC releases for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system will also be available for Rock Band 2 Wii owners soon.

Downloadable content for Wii is purchased via the in-game Rock Band Music Store using Wii Points purchased through the Wii Shop Channel and can be downloaded to the hard drive of the Wii or to an SD card for additional storage. The tracks stream directly from the SD card for seamless play.
