Activision and Webfoot Technologies have announced that a game based on the popular Nickelodeon TV series, The Legend of Korra TV, will be heading to the 3DS this year.

There will also be a version released for home consoles – albeit not for the Wii U – however the 3DS version will be unique in that it’s being developed by a different studio and will take a more turn-based strategy approach. The home consoles will receive an action-based game more focussed on fast-paced martial-art combat.

For those unfamiliar with the show, The Legend of Korra is a sequel to the mega-popular Avatar: The Last Airbender, which aired on Nickelodeon from 2005-2008 and spawned a (rather forgettable) movie in 2010.

The console and portable versions will be released this fall, and we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available. In the meantime, let us know if this game is likely to pique your interest.
