After the wonderful success of Salt Lake Comic Con’s Super Smash Bros. Tournament last September, we are happy to announce that a Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl Tournament will be appearing for the Salt Lake Comic Con FanXperience, hosted by Utah 3DS StreetPass. This event would not be possible without our sponsors, including the University of Utah Entertainment Arts & Engineering Program, F.Y.E., Pure Nintendo Magazine (PNM), Smash Burger, and Gamer’s Abbey.

Participation is initially capped at 125 players for each tournament. The entrance fee for each tournament is $10 with a $15 venue fee. Registration for the tournament will close on Tuesday, April 8th at 11:59PM or when the limit has been reached for number of participants.

The top 4 from each tournament will move on to the finals that will be held at the Salt Lake Comic Con FanXperience on Thursday, April 17th. Matches will be streamed live on Twitch.TV and on stage in the Game Room of the convention.

Players need to provide their own controller for matches – any controller that works with the game may be used, including Wii Remote, Wii Remote+Nunchuck, Wii Remote+Classic Controller, or GameCube Controller. Players are encouraged to bring a back-up controller and batteries (if using a Wii-remote) just in case.

Prizes include a portion of entry fees to the top players in their respective tournament (depending on the number of entrants), as well as some physical prizes provided by PNM.
