Warhammer Age of Sigmar dawns on Switch on April 16th
PlayFusion and Games Workshop are bringing their modern take on collectible card games to Nintendo Switch, and they’re doing it in the form of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions. The popular TCG will launch on April 16th.
In one of the more unique features of the game, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions will allow true cross-play between its video game and physical versions; players will be able to scan physical cards into their collection to claim and take them to the battlefield on the Switch. This feature requires an account link to an Internet-enabled mobile device with a camera (i.e., your phone).
But the cross-play doesn’t end there…
Harness the custom crafted decks from one of the four Grand Alliances and challenge friend or foe across the world and across platforms! The Nintendo Switch version supports full crossplay with Steam and Mobile devices. Players can also take Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions on the go, with joy-con and touch screen support, or at home!
Launching with the Nintendo Switch version on April 16th is a brand-new single-player adventure called Realm Trials. In it, players will fight legendary battles over dozens of hours to conquer the Mortal Realms. And if that’s not enough, Arena of Echoes will allow them to experience a whole new way to battle. Realm Trials and Arena of Echoes add to a robust series of narrative campaigns, multiple game modes such as Ranked and Casual play, and seasonal leaderboards and challenges.
