Ubisoft has announced the next entry in the Assassin’s Creed series via Eurogamer.  The next Assassin’s Creed game is going to be called Unity and it is going to take place in Paris during the French Revolution.  While the game looks fantastic (in-game footage can be viewed below), the troubling piece of the announcement is that their is no confirmation of a Wii U release.  We have reached out to Ubisoft for comment and will update our readers with any new developments regarding Assassin’s Creed: Unity.  Until we hear back from Ubisoft it seems like the publishers support for the Wii U is waning.  Hopefully Ubisoft is just putting off any announcements for the Wii U version of the title until a later date but for now things between Ubisoft and Nintendo’s Wii U are not looking good.

UPDATE: Pure Nintendo received a statement from a PR representative from Ubisoft confirming that there has been no official announcement for Assassin’s Creed: Unity for Wii U. “We’ve only announced for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC for Assassin’s Creed Unity. We have no other news at this time.”
