Nintendo has released its latest system update for the Wii U. This update brings us to version 5.3.0, and is now available in both Europe and North America.

This is a major update in the sense that it adds amiibo settings to your Wii U. Good thing too, with amiibos due for release in just over one week on November 21. Here’s the official word on what changes you can expect to your system:

amiibo Settings has been added to System Settings. amiibo Settings allows users to register an amiibo owner and nickname, delete data written to an amiibo by supported software, or reset an amiibo

Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.
