Hey Folks! This is where I will be posting my thoughts on the Nintendo Treehouse as they come. I’ll try my best to be as informative as possible.

2:25PM

  • TP are tension points in which the arts system will rely on.
  • Treasure Boxes will be leveled (the crew just opened a level 1 treasure box)
  • Cut-scenes can feature dialogue options. These options can shape how cutscenes play out
  • Special weakpoints not only offer damage bonuses, but rewards bonuses as well
  • Debuffs are represented in pink, while buffs are represented in blue.

2:26: Taka’s introduction

  • The treehouse has just introduced Taka, who is actually not apart of your party. Instead, he gives you items such as the Nav-ball. Sorry to all you Nopon Fans.
  • Swimming up to the giant monsters show you that some monsters are neutral. Don’t bother them, and they won’t bother you.

2:30:

  • The game does have a day/night cycle and weather cycle.  As we have reported before, animal behavior changes depending on the environment.
  • Treehouse shows that you can have four party members, rather than three in Xenoblade Chronicles.
  • Showing off probes now. Dropping probes not only set up travel points and respawn points, but also gives information around you such as treasures and powerful monsters.

2:35 – Entering Noctolum

  • Jungle area filled with high-level monsters.
  • Dying does not cost players exp, money, or items.
  • There are two classes: Inner-Class (overall level) and Class.
    • One class is known as Samurai Gunner

2:38 – Exploring random cave

  • Both changing continents and entering the cave shows the seamless transition between large areas that Monolith Soft has been promising.  So far, no loading times.
  • Treehouse now fighting giant turtle creature at level 12.
  • Certain attacks playoff each other.  An example they used is toppling the enemy, followed by fire grenade.
  • Giant Monsters can be anywhere and everywhere, so keep your guard up.
  • All of this exploration shows just how fast your character can move (and run away).
  • You can also use Soul Voice (Burst Affinity) even if you are ambushed.  This was not the case with Xenoblade Chronicles.

2:47

  •  Colors on items will show the rarity of that item.

2:50 – Time for Giant Robot Fights!

  • All equipment on your Skell will show visually
  • You will also have to research jetpacks for the ability to fly.
  • Normally neutral enemies will become hostile if you are in your Skell.
  • Walking will not consume fuel.  However, flying and combat will consume fuel.
  • You can refuel Skells quickly by spending Miranium.

2:55 – Skell Battles

  • Skell arts are not based on class, but what equipment is on your Skell. They can be both ranged, and melee.
  • If an enemy is toppled, you have a chance to capture the enemy (contain) for up to 10 seconds. This gives you combat bonuses while incapacitating the enemy.  In order to keep up the capture, you need to continuously press B at the right time (like in Soul Voice).
  • Teammates not in Skells get a 20% defense
  • Overdrive: Speeds up cooldown times.  Proper timing can increase your time in Overdrive.
  • Pilot Mode: Invincible, with no cooldown time. Like containment, you can increase your time in pilot mode by pressing B at the right time.
  • Skell insurance is “three strikes, you’re out” system. Lose your Skell three times, and you have to pay for replacements.
  • There is no fall damage, even for Skells.

3:03 – Back to the Garage

  • Here, you can assign Skells to party members.
  • There are sixteen pieces to customize on your Skell (combat wise).
  • You can outfit yourself with one-slot and duel-slot items.
  • You can further customize your Skell with colors, and even give it a name.
  • Need some quick cash? You can sell your Skell.

3:10 – Blade

  • Avalanche: One of the eight professions (factions) in Blade
  • Each faction will have its own benefit. You can change your faction on the fly.
    • example: Testament can offer bonuses when opening chests
  • In further customization news, you can even customize the home you live in.

That’s it for the Nintendo Treehouse. North American and European release date is still TBA, but still expected to be later on in 2015.
