Nintendo is not known for adding additional game content to their existing games using the paid DLC business model but rather as free updates.  Now there is a rumor floating around that the upcoming release of Mario Golf: World Tour for the 3DS will get additional courses but they will be available as paid downloadable content.

The listing for Mario Golf: World Tour on Amazon.com says that the game will offer “additional paid downloadable courses” among the list of features in the game description.  While this has not been confirmed by the Big N themselves, this could come out in a press release on launch day or in a future Nintendo Direct presentation.

Mario Golf World Tour is releasing for the Nintendo 3DS on May 1st in Japan and May 2nd in North America and Europe.
