As the week comes to a close, it’s time to check out the latest additions to the Nintendo eShop. This week’s highlights include a new Digimon outing as well as the epic Granblue Fantasy. Let’s dig in!

Digimon is back with the latest entry in the Story series. Digimon Story Time Stranger is the seventh Story entry, first released on other consoles late last year and now making its way to Switch and Switch 2. The game features over 450 Digimon to find and “Digivolve”. A demo is also available, which we’ll be chatting about on our next episode of the Pure Nintendo Podcast.

Meanwhile, we’ve definitely been talking about Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok, an action RPG featuring 20 playable characters. There’s also a demo for this one, plus we’re reviewing it, so stay tuned for our full thoughts. This one also originally hails from other platforms, first debuting in 2024. It’s fantastic to see it appearing on the Switch 2 now. The “Endless Ragnarok” portion of the game is completely new to all consoles, bringing more characters, story, and crossplay functionality.

There are four new entries on the Switch Online Classics this week; three Game Boy titles and one Game Boy Advance entry. These retro stars include a Dr. Mario crossover and Wario’s first solo adventure, dubbed Super Mario Land 3. It introduces us to Wario’s patented shoulder barge, compared to Mario’s ability to jump on enemies, and went on to cement Wario as a mainstay in the colorful cast of characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. Wah!

Meanwhile, there are sales aplenty, new music to listen to, and activities to enjoy. Activities include Star Fox wallpaper, Star Fox sweepstakes, and the next Splatfest for Splatoon 3, featuring none other than Splatoon Raiders. There’s also a long list of new titles to check out including Denshattack and Gun Volt Chronicles. Phew!

  • Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok – Embark on an epic journey in the Sky Realm! In this visually stunning action RPG, players will journey alongside a diverse cast of allies, exploring breathtaking floating islands and battling powerful foes. With over 20 playable characters, up to four people can team up locally or online for multiplayer action. Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok launches today on Nintendo Switch 2!

Game Boy – Nintendo Classics

  • Fortified Zone – Originally released in 1991, this popular action shooter allows players to alternate between two characters. Fortified Zone brings four multi-room levels of heavy fire and explosions, as well as the mode SOUND BOY where you can listen to the music tracks outside of the action! Enemy forces have created a gigantic fortress in a critical zone, and reports have been coming in that they are developing a powerful secret weapon. Secret agents Masato Kanzaki and Mizuki Makimura have been dispatched to infiltrate the fortress and venture to the heart of the complex to destroy it. Join these two in their mission through the Fortified Zone and destroy the threat! Fortified Zone is available now for Nintendo Switch Online members2.
  • Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 – Things are really cookin’ on Kitchen Island! Wario has heard the pirates have a giant golden statue of Princess Toadstool – and he’s scheming to steal it after being kicked out of the last castle by his rival, Mario. Help Wario collect treasure by smashing into objects and foes. Power-ups like the Bull Pot, Jet Pot and Dragon Pot will grant Wario additional powers that he can use to his advantage. Find keys to unlock treasure chests that are hidden in various levels. The more treasure you collect, the bigger the castle at the end of the game will be. Wario’s greed knows no bounds! The Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 game is available now for Nintendo Switch Online members.
  • The Sword of Hope II – The future of Riccar is in Prince Theo and his friends’ hands. The Sword of Hope II is a role-playing game that was originally released in 1996 for the Game Boy system. Take on the role of young Prince Theo of Riccar and embark on a mission to find the truth behind a mystery threatening the kingdom. The key to solving the numerous puzzles and gimmicks is the use of commands like look, open and hit. You’ll encounter many places and items during the adventure, plus some friends waiting to lend a hand along the way. The Sword of Hope II is available now for Nintendo Switch Online members.

Game Boy Advance – Nintendo Classics

    • Dr. Mario & Puzzle League – Two engrossing puzzle games in one! Dive right into this two-in-one title originally released for the Game Boy Advance system in 2005. Build chains of similarly colored vitamin capsules to eliminate viruses in Dr. Mario or match gradually rising blocks of like color to eliminate them in Puzzle League. In addition to Classic mode, you can take on two different types of versus modes in Dr. Mario. There are also six ways to play Puzzle League and multiple settings to adjust, including rules and screen display! The Dr. Mario & Puzzle League game is available now for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.
