It’s been almost three years since the release of Metroid(r) Prime 2: Echoes on the Nintendo Gamecube(tm) and a year and a half since Metroid(r) Prime: Hunters put you Nintendo DS(tm) stylus into overdrive. Now the Wii Shop Channel is here to help get you “primed” for the upcoming release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on Wii(tm)!

It all starts with the Metroid Prime 3: Preview. This new channel, available in the WiiWare(tm) section of the Wii Shop Channel, is dedicated solely to Metroid(r) Prime 3: Corruption. From the unique cursor and layout to the movies giving you a preview of the game’s story line and game play. There’s no denying you’ve entered the realm of Metroid.

Next up is the game that started it all–Metroid on the NES(r). Bring on the nostalgia and fond memories as you explore Planet Zebes and get reintroduced to Samus and classic enemies like Ridley and Mother Brain! Metroid is rated E with Mild Fantasy Voilence by the ESRB. Available to download for 500 Wii Points(tm) on August 13 from the Virtual Console section of the Wii Shop Channel.

What better way to follow that than with the Super NES(r) classes: Super Metroid(r). Arguably one of the greatest games ever. Super Metroid upped the ante with bigger and badder bosses, along with new items such as the Grappling Beam and X-Ray Scope. Super Metroid is rated E with Mild Violence by the ESRB. Available to download for 800 Wii Points on August 20 from the Virtual Console section of the Wii Shop Channel.

Wrapping up the Month of Metroid is the arrival of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Taking all the elements that made the previous Prime games so special and adding Wii-specific controls; Metroid Prim 3: Corruption is one of the most innovative and highly anticipated game releases this year! Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is rated T with Animated Blood and Violence by the ESRB. Available for purchase later this month at you local retailer.
