It’s a new year and it’s time to see what we’re playing in our first playlist for 2017. The holidays are busy but there’s always time for some gaming, whether it’s catching up on something we missed last year or replaying something we love. Check out our playlist below and let us know what you’ve been playing over the holidays.

  • Pikmin 3: I’ve had a lot going on recently so I figured another go at Pikmin 3 would be a good way to wind down and relax. I love this game so much. Everything is just so awesome and neat, no matter how many times I play.
  • Dragon Ball Fusions (3DS): Im playing this to freshen up for my review. It’s been such a good pasttime. Especially if you’re a DBZ fan.
  • Earthbound (3DS): I’ve made it all the way to Scaraba. Poo just left to go learn the Starstorm attack. I’ve been grinding quite a bit so it’s been pretty easy to progress up to this point. This is my 3rd time playing Earthbound and I’ve noticed something different every time I play. It’s such an awesome, complex, hilarious game.

  • Animal Crossing New Leaf (3DS): Finally got enough orange tulips to make the P for the Pwing flower mural I’m planning, and now I’m getting ready to start breeding black tulips. I’ve got one so far. This is the first time I’ve gotten into gardening in an Animal Crossing game, and I’m enjoying it.
  • Pokémon GO (mobile): The New Year’s event has been pretty awesome for catching the Kanto starters. I’ve now got a Charmeleon and a Wartortle, and I’m just 9 candies away from evolving my Ivysaur.

Trevor

  • TrevorDonkey Kong Country Returns (3DS): I return to this game with some frequency, yet I’m not sure if it’s ever made my playlist. In any case, I recommend it if you’ve yet to play it, especially since it’s now a Nintendo Selects title. It also reminds me that I still need to pick up a copy of Tropical Freeze for my own.
  • Kirby’s Return to Dream Land (Wii): Been enjoying some leisurely, multiplayer with Kirby & crew. Also wondering what this game might look like in High-Def.
  • Pokémon Sun (3DS): Slow but steady …
  • Quiet, Please! (3DS eShop): I reviewed the Wii U version of this a while back, but I plan on doing a Mini-Review of this 3DS port all the same. Look for it next week.

Jemma

  • Fire Emblem: Fates (3DS): I am LOVING this game! I just finished chapter 12, getting stronger. I just defeated my Ryoma for the first time, who I had married in Birthright, so that was interesting …
  • Pokémon GO (mobile): Still on level 23 sheesh! Getting closer and waiting on quite a few eggs to hatch. Concentrating on evolving a few like Wartortle, Ivysaur and Pikachu.
  • Geki Yaba Runner Deluxe (3DS): I had a lot of fun with this challenging runner, it’s fast and furious! Check out my Geki Yaba Runner review for more details.
