After a long week in the office, the Pure Nintendo team takes a moment to reflect over the games we’ve been obsessed with lately.

Are you after some gaming inspiration for this weekend? Check out our latest favorites below, and let us know what’s on your playlist right now in the comments section.

  • Pokemon Picross (3DS): I’ve been working so much lately that this is pretty much the only game I’ve been able to play. I freaking LOVE picross puzzles! I’ve completed each level (besides mega evolution stages) up until area 12. It’s rather addicting but I hate having to purchase “energy” to play. I highly recommend it if you need something quick to keep you busy!
  • Harvest Moon Cute (DS): I recently bought this because it’s one of the few Harvest Moon games I’ve never played. In this version you get to be a girl. Hence the name cute… Because you know, us girls won’t buy anything unless it includes the word cute. Anyways, so far it’s been an awesome little adventure, I can’t wait to play it more!

Rodea: The Sky Soldier (Wii U eShop): I have something of a love/hate feeling towards this game, but it packs a lot of interesting content.  You can hear more of my thoughts by checking out this review.
  • Shovel Knight (Wii U): I just picked up the new Shovel Knight amiibo.  Let me tell you, experiencing Shovel Knight in two player co-op mode is great!  It feels like a new game.

Thomas

  • Guitar Hero Live (Wii U): I’m still enjoying the large song list and the competition, and have been playing this even more since the recent update.

  • Pokémon Picross (3DS): With my Wii U out of action (again – thanks to my cat and his teeth on my cords) I’m strictly in handheld territory at the moment. Thankfully there are games like this to keep me occupied. I’m a big fan of the Picross e series, and this pocket monster version provides a nice alternative.
  • SteamWorld Heist (3DS): I’m really enjoying this game! I love the characters and the tactical gameplay, it’s very different to SteamWorld Dig, but is equally fun and challenging. If you’re still unsure about this one, check out Kaelyn’s awesome SteamWorld Heist review!
